It is a sorry thing to take up someone's time
With a poem, like being gross at a party
And enjoying it, and we poets do enjoy it,
Being gross and the party, both

We live in a hyper-civilized age
Most of our poetry is pure drivel

This is our glory

Drivel is the ultimate refinement of speech

And if you think poetry is more than this
One of us is crazy
Go on, get out of here!
Get away from poetry!
